Last weekend, our Events Planning team made up of BYU students, went to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City to deliver craft kits from a recent service project at Coconut Cove. In the month of March, Coconut Cove hosted two Family Night events where families packaged the supplies for Easter egg wreath craft kits. The events planning team contacted the hospital, got the supplies for the service project, and led the activity during Family Night. They planned the activity so Coconut Cove customers would have the opportunity to get involved in an outreach project for the community.

The service project had a very positive response from children and parents at Coconut Cove. Several little kids started with making just one craft kit and liked it so much that they went back to make more. One boy wrote “donating from Coconut Cove” on a craft kit. Families enjoyed working together and kids loved that they could help other children their age at a local hospital. On Saturday March 24th, the interns took approximately 65 completed art kits and dropped them off to be enjoyed just in time for Easter!
